Join Us Tonight for The Big Run on Global Running Day!

Today is Global Running Day, and in our humble opinion, it's the greatest day of the year. Celebrate with us at The Big Run, a free 5K and the biggest running party of the summer.

Event Details

  • 5:30pm: Check-in begins
  • 6:30pm: Announcements
  • 6:40pm: Walk to the trail
  • 6:45pm: Run begins
• Location: Sonny's in Aksarben Village

Due to the anticipated high attendance, we encourage you to show up as early as you can.

Parking

All parking in Aksarben Village is free. We recommend parking in the garage to the southeast of Sonny's, near Inner Rail, or the lot near Roast. See the map for details.

Route

For the 5K route, we will walk from Sonny's to the Keystone Trailhead and take off from there. The route is a simple out-and-back that runs south on Keystone. There will be a lead runner and a sweeper, and we will have a water station and the turnaround point!

Please note that we will have a timer at the start and finish line, but this race is not chip timed.

Post-Run Festivities

After you cross the finish line, we encourage you to soak in the post-run vibes at Sonny's and Inner Rail! Grab a drink and sit outside at Sonny's, snag a bite to eat from one of Inner Rail's many restaurants, or snap photos with friends at the finish line.

If you signed up fast enough to make it into the medal division, you'll receive a medal upon completing the race.
