Get ready to get dirty, maybe a little muddy, and definitely inspired! Our popular Trail Training Program returns for another epic season. This 6-week maintenance program is designed specifically for trail runners who thrive off rugged terrain, creek crossings, and the kind of scenic views you only find off the beaten path.

Who It's For

This program is perfect for trail runners who:

Can comfortably run at least 3 miles
Want to stay “trail fit” through the summer
Are aiming to maintain or build up to 10K or Half Marathon distance
Love a good challenge and even better community

Program Details

Kickoff Event and First Run
Tuesday July 7th, 2026 – 6:00 AM
Horseshoe Lake Parking Lot

Meet the coach, get the scoop on the program, and head out for your first run. Bring a friend!

Weekly Group Runs

Tuesdays at 6:00 AM
Saturdays at 7:30 AM

Training Includes

Twice-weekly coached group runs
Daily training plan for all 6 weeks
Workshops focused on trail running techniques & gear
Hydration stations for long Saturday runs (sponsored by Huma)
Supportive coaching & mentor team
Awesome trail-loving community to run with

Goal Race (Optional)

Santa Cruz Trail Run - Inside Trail Racing - Ultramarathon, Half Marathon & 10K Trail Runs Throughout the SF Bay Area

Note: Our training will build up to 6 miles, starting from 3 miles.

Requirements

Injury-free at the start of the program
Appropriate trail running shoes & gear
Ability to run at least 3 miles
Must be 18+ years old

Program Fee: $50
