- Midsole: ASICS’ lightweight FF Blast™ Plus midsole foam gives you a lightweight and energetic ride. It is combined with rearfoot PureGEL™ technology that gives you extra shock absorption in the heel while being lighter and softer than conventional GEL™ technology.
- Outsole: The Fluidride™ Outsole is a combination of EVA and rubber to provide a smooth and fast ride while giving you a bit of traction for the road.

What’s New
ASICS updated the Gel-Cumulus by putting a brand-new outsole on the shoe. The Fluidride™ outsole is a blend of EVA and rubber that helps with durability and grip. This outsole gives you a softer and smoother feel by contacting the ground with the foam materials that are not covered with rubber. They also managed to add cushion by increasing the stack height while reducing weight, making for a more comfortable ride.

Comfortable shoe - neutral balance -good fit right out of the box - only issue is wear of bottom sole seemed to disappear pretty quickly within the first 50 miles compared to other brands I’ve worn

Asics
My right foot has a rebuilt heel and pins in other parts. My heel hurts less in asics than any other shoe. Most people believe it is healed by how well I can walk in asics.

Love this shoe!
Never realized there really can be too much cushion! I’m typically a Nimbus user but was recently reading the Cumulus reviews comparing it to the Nimbus. When I read about the Nimbus having too much cushion I realized my legs on my longer runs were getting “tired” quicker. I then saw the Cumulus 26 on sale so I thought I would give them a shot, so glad I did. My legs did not feel “tired” at all on my longer runs. I’ve read about too much cushion can hinder a run because it makes you work harder, I never thought it was actually a thing until now.!

Jury still out on the Gel-Cumulus 26
A big difference on the Cumulus 26 is the noticeable thinness of the tongue. It's only been a few miles. Time will tell if it is deal breaker for me. Over the years I have purchased dozens of pairs of Gel-Cumulus, but it might be time to move on. However, an obvious question is - why the tongue change?
