Comfortable shoe - neutral balance -good fit right out of the box - only issue is wear of bottom sole seemed to disappear pretty quickly within the first 50 miles compared to other brands Iโve worn
My right foot has a rebuilt heel and pins in other parts. My heel hurts less in asics than any other shoe. Most people believe it is healed by how well I can walk in asics.
Never realized there really can be too much cushion! Iโm typically a Nimbus user but was recently reading the Cumulus reviews comparing it to the Nimbus. When I read about the Nimbus having too much cushion I realized my legs on my longer runs were getting โtiredโ quicker. I then saw the Cumulus 26 on sale so I thought I would give them a shot, so glad I did. My legs did not feel โtiredโ at all on my longer runs. Iโve read about too much cushion can hinder a run because it makes you work harder, I never thought it was actually a thing until now.!
A big difference on the Cumulus 26 is the noticeable thinness of the tongue. It's only been a few miles. Time will tell if it is deal breaker for me. Over the years I have purchased dozens of pairs of Gel-Cumulus, but it might be time to move on. However, an obvious question is - why the tongue change?
